The 3 mountains of Zell Am See combine with the Kitzsteinhorn glacier to give a total of 132km of piste, ideal for skiers of all abilities from beginners to experts.
Beginners are well served by either Maiskogel, or else the glacier itself, which boasts 21 green runs, whilst Intermediates enjoy 19 red runs on the glacier, and an extra 52km of reds and blues on Schmittenhöhe. Experts finally can either enjoy the 9 black runs (25km) on Schmittenhöhe, or try venturing out into the backcountry with one of the mountain and ski guides. Cross country skiers meanwhile can ski over 200km of backcountry, whilst those wishing to learn can take advantage of the cross country ski school.
Boarders at Zell Am See at catered for with a terrain park including a Fun box, Styleroller and Step Down Kicker, and on Glocknerwiese with the rodeo-funpark, complete with half-pipe. Free-riders will not be disappointed either, with the backcountry runs on the Magnetkopfl course or Langwied route.
There are 10 different ski schools in the whole Europa-Sportregion, catering for beginners of all ages, and offering group and individual lessons. Meanwhile, for children, there is the award-winning Schmidolin Club, a friendly snow dragon who helps children take their first tentative steps on the slopes. Meanwhile for advanced skiers and those wishing to try something which offers a real workout, with wonderfully satisfying views, there is a cross-country ski school.
