The local skiing in Morzine is divided into three sectors; Pleney above the town to the west, Super Morzine to the east (and the main ski-link to Avoriaz) and Nyon-Chamossierre to the south.
Skiing takes place on the wooded slopes on both sides of the Les Gets valley, which is criss-crossed with further lifts that extend to 1850m Le Ranfoilly and 1665m La Rosta at the far end of the valley. On the north-western side of Les Gets, a gondola and a chair lead up to Mont Chéry. This is the location for dedicated slalom and snowcross courses, as well as a terrain park. Morzine also has a large floodlit area with skiing, tubing and big-air that remains open until 10pm.
There are no dedicated facilities for Snowboarding in Morzine.
To find dedicated snowboard and freestyle facilities you need to head further away to Avoriaz or Mont Cheri.
The ESF dominates the school scene in Morzine and can provide any level of instruction and guiding. Independents have grown up, however, notably the British Alpine Ski School (BASS) whose "Masterclass Performance" and the Ecole Ski, Snowboard and; Adventures' (E2SA) "Performance Academy" offer advanced instruction in small groups.
