Killington is the largest resort on America's east coast. There are six mountains connected by easy trails forming a total of 1,182 acres of tree-lined runs with 32 ski lifts. Three of the mountains, Snowdon, Killington and Skye, can be accessed from the base.
Snowfall is reasonable for the east coast but Killington have made provisions for poor seasons with 70 percent of its slopes covered by snowmaking. The season is one of the longest in the USA, beginning in late October and going on into June, being very cold in the early parts of the season.
Beach super-pipe, three terrain parks with jibs, table-tops, kickers and even a boardercross are all available to the dedicated boarder.
The excellent ski school here claims to get beginners skiing from mountain top to base in three days. The Rams Head Center is a designated area with a magic snowplay park and a kids-only terrain-park where no parents are allowed.
